Car Pros for Kids
If one of your New Years resolutions was to take better care of your car we have a deal for you! If it was to find a way to help others this year, we have a deal for you!
The Car Pros for Kids program kicks off on February 1st and it is the best deal in town for oil changes for your car. It is also a way to help those that are not as fortunate as we are by making a donation the Child Advocates.
Stop by the shop, or any Car Pros participating shop, and make a donation for $25.00 to Child Advocates. In return you will receive 2 free oil changes on your car to use anytime this year. Of course there are some exceptions for diesels and things like that but for most cars you will get 2 complete full service oil and filter changes using a premium grade oil an quality filter.
You know that you are going to have to change your oil this year, so here is a way to get 2 oil changes for less than the cost of one, and have the money go to Child Advocates. All of the $25.00 goes to Child Advocates.
This is a win, win, win situation. You get something you need at a great price, Child Advocates gets the financial help they need, and the shops get to offer a program that will keep the regular customers coming back and hopefully meet some new ones.

Magic Smoke
I asked Joe what happened to his car and he told me, "All the magic smoke leaked out."
Well I hadn't heard that before so I just had to ask, "What magic smoke?"
So he told me, "Just before my TV stopped working there was a puff of smoke from the back of it. When my computer stopped working it let out a big cloud of stinky black smoke. Well I was driving down the road and out from around the hood came a rising cloud of white smoke and I just knew I was in trouble. Once the magic smoke escapes that's it!" |
Planning For 2007
Well here it is, the start of another year and if you are like me you are making all sorts of plans for what you would like to do this year.
My wife and I are planning several long weekend road trips, running to places like Austin, San Antonio, and yes, even to help support the Native Tribes of Louisiana. We would also like to take a longer trip up North.
Then there are the Grandsons in baseball, weight lifting and football and all those events to go to, and the Granddaughter that is in gymnastics (she placed 3rd in State) and all her meets. That will be a lot of nights or weekends on the road too.
That doesn't include the visits to Mom, going shopping, or last but not least, going to work.
We are going to have to depend on our car, having faith that it will get us there and back every time. Nothing will spoil a weekend trip, or a Granddaughters moment in the sun, faster than a car that leaves you on the side of the road.
Now is the time to get the car checked out for the coming year. By doing a 30 point inspection on the car we can determine what condition it is in. and what you may be facing in the months to come. We can make recommendations for upcoming service or repairs and then you can plan and budget for them over the coming months.
Here are some of the advantages of planning your maintenance;
- You get to decide when!
- You can budget for the cost.
- You can prevent most breakdowns by finding problems before they become catastrophic.
- You get an "Overall" picture of the car and may just decide to get a new one.
- You have peace of mind when you turn the key.
Freedom will be happy to do a 30 point inspection of your car at no charge to you and then go over the findings and help you decide how to best maintain your car.
If you take good care of your car...it will take good care of you!

Happy New Year!
Whew, am I glad that one is over!
Every year about this time we sit down and make our resolutions or set goals for the New Year just starting. At keast that's what we are supposed to do.
- Some of us will be quitting something
- Some of us will be beginning something
- Some of us will set goals for personal gains in finance or accomplishments
- Some of us will join, or leave, people, places or things
- Some of us will forsake sugar, nicotine, caffeine, TV or video games
- Some of us will embrace God, an exercise plan, or self improvement
- And some of us will just watch football
Whatever your New Year resolution I wish you the best in it. After almost losing my wife and finding my daughter this year I have learned:
- That it ain't about the money
- It ain't about the things
- It ain't about the waistline, hipline or bust line
- It ain't about where we live, where we go or what we drive to get there
It is about the people you love and those who love you
Happy New Year.
